In the afternoon of 20th of June, World Refugee Day, “Sports Together” team went to Kaunas, to volunteer in a picnic held by Lithuanian Red Cross. We were really excited to see how many people came to the Historical Presidential Palace, where the event took place.
There was a large table with all sorts of Lithuanian, Afghan, Syrian and Chechen foods. The participants had the opportunity to play interesting board games, such as barjees or nard. Immigrants from Ukraine and Syria shared their stories and their experience living in Kaunas, how it is similar and different from their hometowns.
All in all, we had a wonderful day and want to say huge thanks to Centras INLT for organising this events.
This is a part of the one year project “Sports Together” Co-funded by European Union. Therefore, we are planing to implement more various sporting activities in the future.
If you want to volunteer write us!
